Flash forward about 25 years.
So I had a hair melt down, and at my husband’s suggestion, I decided that I would try wearing a wig. But where to begin?
Well, in this age of massive knowledge right at our fingertips, I went to the web and started my search. Granted, I knew nothing at this point. After all, the world of wigs had changed quite a bit in 25 years. It was like starting all over again.
The first site that popped up in my search was Paula Young. I remembered that name. The two wigs I had purchased 25 years back were that very same brand. Okay. Let’s take a look and see what we can find!
After a couple of hours going through their on-line catalog, I made a choice. The wig was called Jazz. The maker was Jon Renau. A short shag with playful flipped out layers. Now that sounded like a hairstyle I would wear!
The model in the photo made the wig look like it was cute and perky. From the little squares shown for color choices, I picked out the color 10/22TT, whatever that meant. The desciption of the color was light brown and natural blond blend. All I knew was that it looked like it might be close to the color of the hair remaining on my head.
This one was it! I filled in all the necessary information, checked all pertinent boxes and hit the submit button. Now, all I had to do was wait.
The topper is named Instant Charm – part of their Icing. I purchased it from The Wig Company. I believe it is still available in their clearance section. There might be limited stock on some colors, though. Here is the address. I’m not sure if you can click on it that it will take you right there. If not, just copy and paste into your browser .
